William Michael Crowley

The Crowley family story was that he died in 1944 while active duty on a ship that went down in the Pacific. His body was returned to New Hampshire for burial in 1944/1945.

The only online US Navy records show William on the USS West Point a converted troop transport ship in early 1944 and thier is no record of this ship going down in the Pacific. Another record shows him on the USS Rigel an older (1918) style destroyer that did not sink and was decommissioned in 1946.
