Stories

From Frank Gil

Sender Message Frank Gil Information Related to your TWS Remembrance Profile #66650      Robert was my brother from a different father, we had the same mother. He was at our mothers side when she gave birth to me. He was awarded numerous medals, including 2 purple hearts, and two bronze stars. He was in country 6 months. He died outright from friendly fire after a mortar round landed on his position. A chopper had come in to their LZ when one of his comrades, Don De Pena who was at his side went to the chopper to pick up their mail and hot food when the event occured. I have pictures and letters from him in storage. Robert deserves to be honered to the highest degree, he was a true american patriot and hero to all. Please call me at my cell number: 602-717-2454. God Bless all of our brothers and sisters who serve this great country of ours. All of you are never forgotten in our hearts and prayers. Sincerely, Frank Gil
