Floyd Twilley

Floyd Twilley was born Leslie Floyd Collier in Wilcox County, Alabama and was adopted when a small child by a Twilley family there. He was one of eight children born to James Lucy Collier and Matilda Belle Haupt and the brother of my paternal grandmother.

I visited him and his wife, Sadie, here in Mobile many times during my childhood until his death in 1969 while I was in Mississippi. Great Uncle Buck and Sadie had a bit of land in Mobile County with some animals and a cute farmhouse. There were pear trees on his land and I just loved eating enough of them to make a meal out of them!
