Hugh and Maggie had 9 children (3 died in infancy). He and Maggie lived their whole life in Tennessee, most of their married lives in Hickory Tree, Bluff City, Sullivan Co., but a short time was spent in Maryville, Blount Co.(as found in the 1930 census.)

Maggie's parents were Elkanah 'Cain' Morris Morrell (7 Jan 1862-13 Mar 1937) and Susan 'Sis' Elizabeth Morrell (17 Apr 1865-27 May 1937). Yes, her maiden name was Morrell!

Obit: Bristol Herald Courier/Virginia-Tennessean  Wednesday, 30 November 1994

Mrs. Maggie Bell Morrell Richardson, 90, of 210 Morrell Creek Road, Bristol, Tenn., died Monday, Nov. 28, 1994, in Bristol Regional medical Center.

She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, a charter member of Sunrise Baptist Church and was the widow of Hugh Richardson.

Survivors include 5 daughters, Hazel Richardson, of the home, Mrs. John (Gladys) Craig, Bluff City, Mrs. Harold (Janette) Stidham, Taylor, Mich., Mrs. Gene (Anna) Whaley, Sandusky, Ohio, and Mrs. Ray (Iva) Mullis, Charlotte, N.C.; one son, Hobert Richardson, Bluff City; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Weaver Funeral Home is in charge.

 

Funeral Services: Bristol Herald Courier, 1 December 1994

Richardson - Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Bell Morrell Richardson will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Loyce Franklin officiating, assisted by the Rev. Niles E. Kitzmiller. Burial will be in Shipley Cemetery. Mrs. Richardson is also survived by one daughter-in-law, Margaret Richardson. Pallbearers will be grandsons, great-grandsons and nephews. Weaver Funeral Home Chapel is in charge.
