Hugh and Maggie had 9 children (3 died in infancy). He and Maggie lived their whole life in Tennessee, most of their married lives in Hickory Tree, Bluff City, Sullivan Co., but a short time was spent in Maryville, Blount Co.(as found in the 1930 census.)

This is the house that Hugh and Maggie raised their children in. It was handed down to them from Maggies parents.

Bluff City, Tenn. - Jonathan Hugh Richardson, 76, of Route 3, Hickory Tree Community, Bluff City, died Saturday afternoon at Bristol Memorial Hospital.

He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, Tenn., and a retired employee of American Thread Company. He was also a member of Sunrise Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maggie Morrell Richardson; five daughters, Miss Hazel Richardson of the home, Mrs. Gladys Craig, Bluff City, Mrs. Jeanette Stidham, Taylor, Mich., Mrs. Iva Mullis, Charlotte, N.C., Mrs. Anna Whaley, Sandusky, Ohio; one son, Hobert Richardson, Bluff City; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Quess, Bluff City, Mrs. Vesta Leonard, Bristol; two brothers, Walter Richardson, Elizabethton, Tenn., and Harvey Richardson, Bristol; also 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements which are incomplete.

Richardson - Funeral services for Jonathan Hugh Richardson will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Loyce Franklin officiating, assisted by the Rev. Loyd Buchanan. Burial will follow in Shipley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wayne Morrell, O'Dell Morrell, Howard Morrell, Bill Morrell, Roy Morrell, David Morrell, Herman Richardson and Jummy Richardson. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Weaver Funeral Home.
