(From family documents) "Although only Clarice became a professional musician, all the family sang. When they were growing up, the family sang together. Velma sang soprano; Zora, alto; Reba, tenor, and Roscoe, bass. Clarice sang alto and often sang duets with her husband, who was a tenor. Or, she sang in a quartet with him."

Stamps-Baxter Music Company

"In the 1920's the Baxters formed their own company in partnership with Virgil O. Stamps. There were two main offices: one in Chattanooga, operated by the Baxters; and one in Dallas, operated by Mr Stamps. The printing plant was in Dallas. When Mr Stamps died of a heart attack in August, 1940, the Baxters moved to Dallas and ran the entire business from there. They continued to maintain a branch office in Chattanooga; and, from time to time, there were small branches in other cities." (Source: Personal Documents)
