Birth: Mar. 30, 1747 Montgomery County Maryland, USA Death: Mar. 27, 1847 New Manchester Hancock County West Virginia, USA James Allison is the 2nd great grandson of Lord Thomas Allanson, Christian Temple Manor, Charles Co., Maryland. James was the first Allison in Hancock County. English Extraction. James Allison's birth is listed in the Prince George Parish of Rock Creek Chapel, found in the Washington Cathedral in Washington, D.C. Also can be found in Prince George Parish, Vol. 16, District Record, DAR Library. NOTES: James Allison's tombstone lists his birth and death date as 1741 - 1841. This is incorrect. See Note below. NOTES: (From the works of Maestro Genealogist Shawn-Paul Allison ) 'Since that is the earliest record that contains a reference to his birth, we use it. We know that he was buried on his 100th birthday according to various sources,so if he was born in 1747, he died in 1847.' MILITARY: James Allison's Military Record.
