Alexander Scammell's Flying Regiment; King's Bridge in June, 1781. Battle of Yorktown: Flying Regiment under Col. Scammell; reassigned to Lt. Col. Alexander Hamilton who commanded the Flying Regiment after Col. Scammell's death. "The Americans. . . would take Redoubt Ten while the French would take Redoubt nine" (Thacher, 1854, p. 477). Served until 1783. Massachusetts Militia: colonel and general. War of 1812.
