General Samuel Lee (1767-1839)
Barre, Worchester, Massachusetts. Revolutionary War (1780-1783). Massachusetts Militia: 1780 - West Point; 3 month commitment. Massachusetts Militia: 1781 - enlisted for three years; Col. Alexander Scammell's Flying Regiment; King's Bridge in June, 1781. Battle of Yorktown: Flying Regiment under Col. Scammell; reassigned to Lt. Col. Alexander Hamilton who commanded the Flying Regiment after Col. Scammell's death. "The Americans. . . would take Redoubt Ten while the French would take Redoubt nine" (Thacher, 1854, p. 477). Served until 1783. Massachusetts Militia: colonel and general. War of 1812.
