Philip M. Topham
This is my Great, Great Grandfather from New Bedford, MA who served in the Civil War on the Navy Ship "Calypso" as a Master Mate in Savannah, GA - due to sloppy paperwork he was rejected for Pension in 1891 - per the records, he was honorably discharged by the Navy in 1863; however, the Navy claims he left without permission - so whatever happened or whatever the truth is - this Memorial is to thank him for all that he did for the United States and our freedom.
