An article from the Paris (Illinois) Beacon-News:
"Mrs. Bertha Fletcher, 410 Connelly Street, has received a cable from her son, Sergeant Pilot Moss K. Fletcher, informing her of his appointment to and service with the All-Canadian Fighter Squadron. He is located in Southwest England. Moss enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Corps on March 14, 1941, received his wings December 19, 1941 and finished his course of training in England May 31st of this year. He is now with a squadron flying the famous Spitfire ships. The Paris aviator will be remembered by Tiger sports enthusiasts as a member of one of Paris High School's football clubs. After leaving high school, he was enrolled at the University of Michigan for a year. From there he left to join the Canadian Air Force."
