Edward C Mazotas, 85, of Hartford, husband of the late Helen (Bartoszewicz) Mazotas, died Thursday, Septemember 21, 2000 at a local convalesent home. He was born in Hartford son of the late Anthony J and Beatrice (Setmokas) and was a lifelong resident. Prior to his retirement, in 1980, Mr. Mazotas was a cost accountant for Pratt & Whitney Small Tool Company, West Hartford for 44 years. Upon his retirement, he qualified for a seat on the Mazotas rocking Chair club, a closely - knit, unique family organization reserved for retired Mazotas family members. He was a longtime communicant of Holy Trinity Church, and served for many years. He was actively involved in the Knights of Lithuanian Club, a graduate of Hartford High School and Morse Business College. During the 60's and 70's, Ed was the Color Guard Instructor for the Hartford P.A.L.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, having served with the 795th Military Police and saw action in France, Germany and the Pacific theater. He was a associate member of the famous Flying Tigers. He is survived by three sons, Anthony, Leo P., Benedict P., two daughters, Frances M., Barbara A; a brother Leo C.; seven grandchildren, Michael G., Alena, Andrew, Benedict, Matthew, Kristin, and David and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six brothers, Anthony, Theodore, Joseph, Benjamin, Walter and Andrew and two sister, Dorothy, and Eleanor Lessie.
