Howard Elliott Emmens, Sr. Father, Nelson was born in Mystic, CT and moved to Stamford CT when he was 18. Started as a trolly ticket taker and became an architect creating many buildings in Stamford. Nelson's Wife, Emma E. Mays is a direct decendent of the Hoyts that settled Stamford, CT. in the 1600 Mother was Fanny Borrows and direct decented of the first settlers in Mystic, CT in the 1600. She married James Emmens and ship's carpenter
