S/Sgt Erwin B DuVal was in the AAC during WWII with the 310thBomb Group, the 428th Bomb Squadron (12th AF, 57th Bomb Wing) out of Africa, B-25 Mitchells.

This is from a 428th BS roster by state”   137 Godfrey Avenue, Monroe, Mich.

428th BS War Diary:  S/Sgt DuVal painted a sign to be placed over the grave " Edward Micka, Lt. J.G., USN., Killed in Action over this field on 9 Novenber, 1942". 

WAR-DAIRY;

16 Jan 43 - 428th BS War Diary:  Again a sea search with no shipping sighted.  P-38’s got a JU-52 and JU-88.  A hay stack mysteriously caught fire down by the R.R. tracks and illuminated the whole area.  Lt. Shiver along with DuVal, Skoll, Gablinske, and Weber rushed down to fight it.
