Uncle Curt's full name was Curtis Truman Sollars. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corp in WWII as a tail gunner and as an instructor of same. Before the war he was a sub mail carrier for his father Azariah Sollars, on R.R.2 out of Potomac, IL and was the proprietor of the Texaco Service Station in Potomac. His father, retired, and Curt's wife helped operated the station while he was in the army. After the war he returned home to his station and soon became the full time rural mail carrier on R.R.2. He and his wife Grace raised three children, two sons and a daughter. Later on he coupled the mail carrier job with TV repair. As a sportsman, he was an avid coon hunter.
