IN MEMORIUM

On the nineteenth day of September Eighteen Hundred and Ninety-One, in La
Crosse, Wisconsin,
Ogla Elfreda Lee, daughter of Otto and Emma Lee was born, and on the second
day of October
nineteen Hundred Forty-Seven, entered into rest, at the Holden Hospital.

She was married to John C. Swofford, on the fifteenth day of April Nineteen
Hundred and Sixteen.
To this union was born one son,John.C. Swofford, Jr.; who survives her. She
is also survived
by her husband, two Brothers, Sigurd Lee, of Portland, Oregon, Norman Lee,
of Covington, Kentucky
and one sister, Mrs. P. C. Meyer, of Benton, Illinois.

Early in life she united with the Lutheran Church in the City of her birth,
and since making her home
in Carbondale, as long as her health permitted, took part in the activities
of the Methodist Church.

The passing of Olga Swofford from the midst of her friends has removed one
of the beloved personages
of our City. Those who had the privilege of knowing her intimately, knew
an individual with infectuous
lovableness; knew that she made and kept stead-fast friends; that she was a
good woman; a woman of faith,
loyalty, devotion, honor and love.

She bore her illness wonderfully and heroically. She sweetly greeted those
who visited her, but
everyone who, lives must die. To one's own home one is but on a visit,
never knowing but that she
may be gone tomorrow, but knowing all this, dear Mrs. Swofford had the
Faith, that while death can
blot out physical life, yet the Spirit is Eternal, How blessed now to feel
that she is safe in the arms of
Jesus, who, giveth His beloved sleep

Death is another life, We bow our head,
At going out, we think and enter straight
Another golden chamber of the Kings;
Larger than this we leave and lovelier
Then in shadowy glimpses, disconnect
The story flower like closes thus its leaves
The Will of God is All in All.
