Springfield News-Sun (Springfield, Ohio), Page 17 -- Arthur E. "Art" Gossett, 75, died at 6:45 AM Tuesday, September 26, 1995, in his residence following several months of serious illness. He was born in Leesburg, Ohio on February 25, 1920, the son of Charles and Lottie (Logan) Gossett. He retired in 1982 from D & E Manufacturing as a machinist after 34 years of service. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8673, Union Local 1814 and a World War II United States Army veteran. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Catherine "Kitty"; two sons and daughters-in-law, XXXXXX and XXXXXX Gossett, XXXXXX and XXXXXX Gossett, all of Springfield, one sister, Mary Morrow of Columbus, Ohio; one grandson, XXXXXX; three step-grandchildren, XXXXXX, XXXXXX and XXXXXX; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy, James and Earl and a sister, Juanita Stephenson. Friends may call from 5-7 PM Thursday in the Conroy Funeral Home with VFW services at 6:30 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday in the funeral home with Mr. John Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Leesburg, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice program at Mercy Medical Center or the American Cancer Society.
