Coming To America

| Silt, Garfield County, CO

My great grandfather, Giuseppe Antonio Cozza, who came to the US in around 1882, sponsored several of his nephews in their quest to come to America.  Antonio "Tony" Cozza came on the ship Berlin from Naples, arriving on Nov. 5, 1912.

Tony lived in the Aspen area and  worked in the marble quarry at Marble, Colorado.  He enlisted in the Army and was in World War I.  He settled in Steubenville, Ohio after his military service.  His wife and daughter, however,  remained in Italy, and Tony returned to Italy, where he died July of 1967. His two sons, Gabriele and Frank, remained in Steubenville.
