John Roebling

John Roebling was the original designer of the Brooklyn Bridge. After his death, his son Washington took over.

Washington Roebling

Son of John Roebling. Served in the Union Army in the civil war (see Civil War Pension Index image attached) and took over the direction of work on the Brooklyn Bridge after his father died.
