Abraham Green was born in Lead Hill, Arkansas February 7, 1852. He was the fourth of seven children of Michael B. Green and Hannah Lacy. Abe,age 21, married Nancy Catherine "Kit" Keeling, age 20, and they were farmers most of their lives. Kit's parents were first cousins William Able Keeling and Martha Jane Keeling. The couple bore nine children. Both Abe and Kit died at age 88. They are buried side by side in a private cemetery (DeShields-Green Cemetery) in Lead Hill, Arkansas, marked by a single large headstone.

The 1920 census has 18 members of the Deshields, Parsley and Green families, who were the family remaining in Arkansas after so many had moved away.
