he did'nt have to go

Dieter was one hell of a good kid,we were good friends we both loved cars Dieter had couple of muscle cars 64 GTO CONVERTIBLE and a 58 CHEVY with a 64/ CHEVY  409 in it'.Loved to drag race.When Dieter got drafted he was so proud to serve his country after basic and A.I.T he was sent Panama.I do'nt know how long but he did'nt like all the drugs being used afraid he might get hooked he transfered out.When he came home on leave I was home on leave from basic.We had a good time together while it lasted.Then one day he asked not to say anything but he was going to NAM(HE DID'NT HAVE TO GO) Not this kid that always had smile on his young face and liked everyone.But he went no questions asked but(HE DID'NT HAVE TO GO) see this kid every one loved was a citizen of Germany and(HE DID'NT HAVE TO GO) INTO A COMBAT ZONE . But he did and he gave his BEAUTIFUL LIFE FOR NOTHING (GOD REST HIS SOUL)
