William Mackall was a Liveryman before he entered military service on October 3, 1917. He was sent first to Camp Taylor, Kentucky and was assigned to Company A, 335th Infantry.  He was transferred to Camp Sevier, South Carolina where he was assigned to Company A, 113th Machine Gun Battalion.  He embarked from Camp Mills, New York on May 17, 1918.  William Mackall died of bronchial-pneumonia on February 28, 1919 at Le Mans, France.  He is buried at Lynnville, Cemetery, Lynnville Warrick County, Indiana.
