Orville Lowe was a Miner in Warrick County, Indiana before he enlised in the Indiana National Guard on August 5, 1917 in Boonville, Warrick County, Indiana.  He was sent to Camp Shelby, Mississippi.  From there he was assigned to Battery D, 137th Field Artillery.  On June 12, 1918 he was sent overseas.  His final assignment was with the Headquarters Company, 18th Field Artillery, 3rd Division.  He was killed in action on July 18, 1918 at Chateau-thierrey.  Orville Lowe was buried in American Cemetery No. 1764, Belleau, Aisne.
