After the 1910s, Romaine was raised sole by his father.

He was the owner of St. Louis Bow Manufacturing Company 2706 Chippewa Street, St. Louis City, Missouri. His wife Rosalind was Office Manager and her brother, Charles Fred Zavorka was the Sales Representative with the same company. Brown Shoe Company was one of their largest customers. St. Louis Bow Manufacturing Company designed fashionable bows that decorated ladies shoes. With leather punches and wooden shoe sizes, the trio created many fashionable additions for ladies shoes.

Uncle Roe adored his wife Aunt Roz as a "Queen". Their love was so beautiful and lasted a life time. With no children of their own, they were very generous with their nieces and nephews.
