Military Service

| Camp Taylor, Louisville, Kentucky

Joseph C. Grill moved to Warrick County, Indiana from Kentucky in 1901.  He worked as a farmer until he entered military service on September 5, 1918 at Boonville, Warrick County, Indiana. He was sent to Camp Taylor, Kentucky where he was assigned to the 60th Company, 15th Training Battalion, 159th Depot Brigade.  He was transferred to the 24th Company, 6th Battalion, 159th Depot Brigade and was a member of that unit when he died of pneumonia on November 18, 1918 at Camp Taylor.  He is buried in Cross Road Cemetery, eight miles northwest of Boonville, Indiana.
