Recovery of assetts lost in the war. Elizabeth Underwood (daughter of Docia Elizabeth & Samuel Underwood) is now a widow--her husband having died as a rebel soldier and she is desperately poor with seven children. She is requesting compensation for a horse lost to Union troops under General George Stoneman in the amount of $125.
