George Sprinkle

George enlisted in the Confederate Army on Sept 16, 1861 at Camp Lane by B.D. Lane for three years. He was PVT. Co. B, 64th Regt. VA Infantry. he was captured at Cumberland Gap on Sept. 9, 1863 (Prisoner of War) and was taken to Camp Douglas, Chicago, Illinois, received at Camp Douglas on sept. 26, 1863 and discharged from Camp Douglas on June 15, 1865. (This was taken from Louisville, KY Register NO. 2, pg. 322.
He had light hair, grey eyes, 5ft. 10in.
George was married twice. His first wife was Eliza C. Osbourne. she was the daughter of Andrew Osbourne and Margaret Hall. They married July 08, 1858 in Lee Co. Virginia. They had seven children, Andrew, James Alfred, Margaret, Job, Elisha Parish and Mary Jane.  Sometime after Eliza's death, George married  Sisan Stewart, they had four children, Lizzie, Richard Lee, William Jackson, Green Vance
