Summary

James was the second of three brothers who fought in the Revolutionary War. His eldest brother, John was a Sergeant. James and his younger brother Lewis were privates serving together in the 10th Virginia Regiment until Lewis died. James and his older brother, John, earned bounty land in Kentucky for their wartime service.
