Fernando Otero Nando was only a few weeks away from his 99th Birthday.

Fernando Otero, 98, passed away April 26, 2010, in Prescott Valley, Ariz. He was born June 3, 1911, in Prescott, Ariz., the son of Fred and Rita Otero.
A visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010, with a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prescott, with a Mass of Christian Burial service at 11 a.m. at the church, followed by burial at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Prescott. A luncheon will follow the services at the church.
His family will remember him as a wonderful man who loved the Lord and his music and will be missed by his family.

Barbara Ennis Connolly PRINCESSBARBIB25@msn.com I knew Nando for many-many years…. my husband and I attended most of the Daily Masses at the Sacred Heart Parish Church in Prescott, AZ. as well as Nando did. I knew Fernando for about 12 years and Nando was blind by then…. but he knew every step, every crack in the sidewalk, he knew how big the trees were growing (he would punch his white cane into the leaves to feel the trees :) Nando would come in by the side door, he would walk a certain number of steps and arrive only a few feet from the Feet of Christ on the St. James Crucifix. Nando was also hard of hearing so he spoke loudly, and I would hear him saying….. "Here I am, it is me again Lord!" Nando was always polite, he was always happy that I said hello to him, he was always thrilled when he became confused and I grabbed his arm and guided him back to his seat…. at which he would always say (upon touching his cane) "Ah! There you are!" and turn and say to me "God Bless you." He led a simple life, he seemed happy. Nando had many freinds. WE were blessed by having him so long. Barbara_
