Stories

Patrick Campion, while the first Civil War Veteran I became aware of in Nevada County, is one of my elusive veterans. His obituary states he served in the Civil War, but does not list his regiment. As his headstone is not a military issued stone, it provides no further clues. So far I've found various Patrick Campion's who served in the Civil War, but have not as yet figured out which one came to California. Patrick Campion deserves credit for getting me started on my quest to find more veterans who resided in Nevada County, California.
