Info from "Find-A-Grave"

Dierbeck, Carl J., age 90, of Waterford, passed away at home March 29, 2011. He was born in Milwaukee, the son of the late Joseph A. and Rose (nee. Kohl) Dierback. Carl attended St. John's Cathedral High School and graduated Messmer High in Milwaukee. He enlisted in the Army Air Force, serving his country during World War II where he was a Radio Man on a B-24 fighter flying from Italy into Germany. He and his first wife, Emily Jane Danovsky, had four children. She preceded him in death on January 10, 1968. On August 28, 1973, he married Arlene M. McBrair. The couple lived in Berlin, where Carl was a current member of the VFW post, and Brookfield and then settled the last 11 years in Waterford. Carl was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus: 4th Degree. He had a special place in his heart for both of them. Carl was an avid Golfer and enjoyed spending time on the links any chance he could!

Comments

I found one mention of his name online, in a book called “Force for Freedom: Legacy of the 98th”. I did not have full access to the document, but the text indicated he served on a plane whose pilot was Joseph Gamble, possibly in the 345th Bomb Squadron.
