Obituary:
Luther V. Basham, 88 of Jumping Branch, died Friday October 19, 2007 at the Harmony House Nursing Home following a long illness.
Born June 6, 1919 in Summers Co. he was a son of the late Aden and Ollie Pack Basham. A Veteran of the United States Army who served his country in World War II, avid outdoorsman who attended Bluestone Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his wife Juanita Basham, six brothers, Zina, Clarence, Albert, Wesley, Dewey and Kelly Basham; two sisters, Mae Hatcher and Pearl Hylton.
Survived by one brother, Oscar Basham and wife Ruth of Jumping Branch, one sister, Irene Gibbons of Tennessee, several nieces, nephews, numerous friends and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday October 23, 2007 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Bill Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the Austin Cemetery at Lerona. Friends may call from 6-7 P.M. on Monday at the Funeral Parlors.
