On 27 Jan 1835, Clarke purchased slave Rachel from Sims, Harriet and Mary Lequeux.

On 15 Dec 1841 Solomon Clarke purchased 23 slaves from Charles C. Pinckney, trustee for Mary Blamyer and her children. 

Purchased on that day were:

Roger, Deborah, Richard, Simon, Elsey, Sarah, Nanny, Cilla, Aminta, Susannah, Mary, Jeny, Lucy, Margaret, Frank, Edward, John, Sandy, Dane, Sam, Roger, Polly & Dorcas

On 15 Dec 1841, Clarke purchased slave Philip from John H. Dawson, through attorney O.H. Dawson.

On 9 Sep 1844, Clarke purchased 5 slaves named Charley, Ellick, Lucy, Della and Patrick from the estate of R.D. McKelvey.

On the same day he purchased 5 slaves from the estate of McKelvey, Clarke also purchased Nancy and her child Violet from William H. Holleyman.

On 14 Dec 1844, Clarke purchased 17 slaves (Roger, Catey, July, Mary, Toney, Jonas, Ellen, Hannah, Scipio, Tenah, Tom, Affy, Celia, Dolly, William, Jemmy and Thomas) from Benjamin Lequeux.
