Civil War info I know for sure about John S Daniels

the battle at Cold Harbor, VA

John was shot twice at that battle....1 bullet in the shoulder, the other in a lung. Not sure which side was involved - I know that only one of the bullets was able to be removed (assuming the one in his shoulder)....The one that was left apparently gave him trouble throughout his life. This is the info that Mom has told me about this, although I'm unsure how much he was discussed when she was a kid...

We also have 2 diaries written by him, and both make mention of the war, some of the battles he was in, etc. Unfortunately, it was mostly written in pencil, and the dates don't seem to be sequential - still, good info to have.
