    You must please Excuse the liberty I take in writing to one who is an entire stranger to myself The subject of which I write is perhaps a delicate one Having previously received an introduction to Rosa, I was introduced to Nellie and Clara on The, Oct 22nd and was very strangely impressed with the idea that before me stood the one who was to become my life partner The throb of love expanded my heart, and I was not happy until it had been declared and I had been assured it had been reciprocated by a heart of equal, if not superior warmth The election of a candidate for the Presidency being over, on the following evening, Clara and I cast our votes in favor of the Union; and as you have been appointed Judge of the election it remains in your power to declare the result
