This is my Great Grandfather and the ship's head cook. He was an Italian guy nicknamed, "Frenchie". He also fought in WWI while in the Army. After he died on the Arizona my Grandfather joined the Navy at 17. My Grandfather earned 8 Bronze Stars while serving the S. Pacific on the USS Du Page. He is still alive as of 2010 and doing well.
