March 12, 1942, Sibley Gazette Tribune:

Services Sunday for Mae Richardson:  Miss Mae Richardson, age 62 died at a local hospital Wednesday March 4, after an illness of several  months.  Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Methodist Church by the Rev. L.D. Havig-hurst.  The Eastern Star, of which she was an officer, gave the ritualistic service of the Order.  Interment was made in West Holman Cemetery.  Mae Richardson was born in Sibley, January 12, 1880 and grew to womanhood in this community.  She was graduated from the Sibley schools and later taught in rural schools of the county.  She was a graduated from Iowa State Teacher's college with the class of 1911 and afterwards taught in the public schools at Adel, Milford Hawarden and Osceola. 

Surviving member of her family are her brother, Ed Richardson of Sibley and George Richardson of Santa Ana, California and one sister Mrs. Nina Knapp of Garden Grove, California.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs Robert Richardson, a brother Ran Richardson and a sister Edith Richardson.  She is also survived by two nephews, Dick and Robert Richardson and two nieces Delores Richardson and Dorothy Knapp of Garden Grove, California.

Relatives from away who came to attend the funeral were Mrs Nina Knapp of Garden Grove, California and Mr. and Mrs Earl L. Bremmer of Hampton.  Other from out of town who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Will Kepka of Biglow, Mrs M.S. Gole and Mrs Polenske of Ocheyedan and Mr and Mrs. Harm Jensen of George.
