1st televised White House address with Harry Truman.

| Washington D.C., USA

Entering a new age in media correspondance, on October 5, 1947, President Harry Truman gave his first televised White House address.  Such television broadcasts gave Americans a more close association with their leaders.  This was more important with the 1960 Presidential Election, where the televised debates between John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon were very popular.
