Battle of Stone River

| Murfreesboro, Tennessee

William Barker's battalion went into action to shore up defences of General McCook's line.  When the Confederates charged,  the unit was pushed back.  While William ran, he got shot in rear by a Confederate minnie ball and sent to the hospital and later went back to Camp Thomas to recover from his injuries.
