Civil War Record

Lysander Ingraham (Ingram) joined Company L of the 7th Indiana Cavalry Regiment on 14 Sep 1863 as a private. While in service, he became a veterinary surgeon for that company, and continued in that capacity, moving to Company B, when the regiment was reorganized down to six companies in August, 1865. The last of the Indiana cavalry regiments to see service in the war, the 7th Cavalry was sent to Texas with George Armstrong Custer during the fall of 1865, and was mustered out in Austin, Texas, on 18 Feb 1866.

Maria L. Osborn was the widow of Stephen Osborn; her maiden name was probably Tryon. Still tracking down data on her. Maria and Stephen had at least three children, named Clarence (b.1867), Cora (b. 1872) and Pearl (b. 1880.)
