My dad was my to go to guy. Everytime I had a problem to figure out dad was there. Like the time my car broke down and I lived in Indiana and dad in Illinois. I explained what was happening to it and he helped me to fix it by talking me through the repair. Brakes worked real well then.

I guess my favorite memories of dad was when we would go fishing in Wilmington Il at the dam. We would take a blanket and spread it out on the ground. I would lay there and fish. Eventually falling a sleep. Dad would stay awake and watch over things. We would stay there all weekend. When we were there one time mom went with us (She does not fish. Scared of worms) She was our cook for the day. Dad and I was out in the water and he told me to watch out for a fish with a real long nose with razor teeth. I asked why and he said they were gar fish and they were in the river. We were fishing and dad got a good bite. He started pulling it in and realized what it was. Before he said gar my feet ran on top of the water mom said I never touched the ground until I was clear up on the shore.

my next favorite memory was when we went to chicago to the pier with my brother- in-law. We cought a basket full of perch. I had put the basket chain between the concrete bricks and the waves washed it out. When we went to leave the basket was gone. We went home. then went back the next day to the same area. They were cleaning out the lake. There was divers there. I asked one of them if he would go down and see if our basket was still there. He did and it was. So we yook it home full of fish. Mom thought we stopped at the fish market to buy some.
