Elva R (Bauer) Scheier 1924-2012

| Elk City, Calif.

Col Milburn Scheier's wife "ELVA".... Treasured wife and mother.

SCHEIER, Elva Ruth
Born in July, 1924 in Wellington, Kansas, Elva passed peacefully from this life at home on April 15, 2012.

A proud and devoted Air Force wife of 26 years, she proved extremely capable in meeting the many challenges she faced caring for her family and raising her sons in a service-oriented environment, especially when her husband was on temporary duty assignments of one to six months away from home.

Upon her 'retirement' from military life, she developed a passion for nursing, excelled at earning her LVN degree from Sacramento City College and worked at the UCD Medical Center for over 12 years, retiring in 1983 to enjoy the pleasures of selective travels.

Elva is survived by her loving husband and best friend of almost 70 years, LtCol (Ret) Milburn D. Scheier. She will be deeply missed by sons Kent (Martha), Doug, and Gary (Colleen), and grandchildren Allison, Brenna, Kristianne, and Colin.

A viewing will held on Monday, April 23rd at 12pm with services to follow at 2pm at East Lawn Mortuary, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento. Interment will be at 10:30am on Tuesday, April 24th at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd., Dixon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to any Veteran's organization of your choice.
