Enid Oklahoma
Max was born in Saxony, Gremany town Crenmemtshaw
Born 01/25/1871 Came to the United States after his arrival he went to Nebraska for a time, then he came to Enid, Oklahoma where he first worked in a saloon, then he word at a Gas Company in the city of Enid. After that he became the proud owner of the Hoover Grocery Store. We are not sure at what point of his life he change his name from Hupfer to Hoover. We do know it was before he married Anna Susanna Hartz on 06/11/1906. Her Brother Valintine Hartz brought her from Luxembourg after her Mother (Anna Hamen) and Father (Matthias Hartz) died. Both Max and Susanna are barried in the Calvary Cemetery in Enid Oklahoma. Her parents never come to the United States. In the 1910 Garfield County, Enid Oklahoma census Max, Susanna, Verona and Lucille last name is Hover, not Hoover. Childern are:
Verona E. Hoover 04/17/1907; Lucelle E. Hoover 08/03/1908; Raymond L. Hoover 04/24/1912;
Marjorie S. Hoover 12/09/1917; Allen C. 01/04/1920; Craig E. Hoover 05/06/1924;
Earnest Hoover 01/01/1926.
