David L. McManigle was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, May 15, 1853 and died at his home near Walcott, North Dakota, Saturday, May 27, 1922, aged 69 years and 12 days.
Early in live he moved to Brookville, Pennsylvania, where he lived until he was 24 years of age and at this city he was married to Miss Jane Wells, a resident of Brookville in 1871.
In 1877 they moved to Charles City, Iowa, where they continued to reside until nineteen years ago, when they moved to near Walcott, North Dakota.
To this union fourteen children were born, nine boys and five girls. Two of the children died in infancy of scarlet fever in the months of June and July 1881 and one daughter, Elsie died in 1920.
He leaved to mourn his departure from this life his wife and eleven children -- Timothy of Abercrombie, North Dakota; Lawrence, Harry and Daniel of Walcott, North Dakota; James of Baker, Montana; Mrs. John Botnen of St. Paul, Minnesota; Margaret of Breckenridge, Minnesota; Mrs. Maude Refsnider of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Philip, David and Silas of Charles City, Iowa.
Funeral services for the late David L. McManigle, who died at his home in Colfax, North Dakota, were held this afternoon at 1:30 from the home of his son, Silas McManigle, 307 Seventh Avenue, Rev. Hess Officiating. Internment was made in Beckwith Cemetery. Mr. McManigle was for many years a resident in this community and leaves many relatives and friends in this vicinity to mourn his loss.
