Aaron Craycroft obituary

| Decatur, Illinois

Aaron Crayroft, who lived in Wheatland township, this county, from 1857 to 1865, died in Cooper county, Missouri, on May 18th, aged 78 years. The deceased was a brother of John Craycroft who built the brick building on the south side of the new square, now occupied by John Washburn, the grocer, and has a nephew, William Craycroft,now residing in Wheatland township.

Aaron Craycroft was one of four brothers, Edward Scott, John P., Benjamin and Aaron Craycroft, who came from Maryland to Macon County, Illinois, over the course of the late 1840's and 1850's. From there the familes spread out to southern Illinois and easter Missouri.
