Roscoe Dillon Jr. later entered the U.S. Naval Academy and graduated in the class of 1935, entering the Submarine Service, and the USS Shark, the first U.S. Submarine to be lost in the Pacific, fighting against the Japanese. Roscoe Dillon Jr. went through the U.S. Naval Academy with Edes Talman, also Class of 1935 USS Shark SS-174 was lost on 11-Feb-1942 with the loss of 59 crew when it was sunk East of Menado, Celebes
