Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker was born in Nelsonville, Ohio on March 25th, 1965. Her parents are Stephen Parker and Barbra Forste. After divorcing Stephen Sarah's mother married Paul Forste. Sarah had three siblings from her mom's first marriage and then the newly married couple had 4 more. Growing up in a family of 8 didn't seem to hinder Sarah's drive to become adept at the arts especially singing and ballet. The family moved to New Jersey because Jessica had been cast in "The Innocents" a Broadway Musical. Sarah studied at the American Ballet School and the Professional Children's School. She landed a part in the Sound of Music.

Her biggest part was yet to come. She was cast as an orphan in the Broadway Musical "ANNIE". She played that part for a year, and then she took over the lead roll for the next year. I think looking back she might say that this roll prepared her for what was to come. She then went to Dwight Morrow High School, and landed a role in the made for TV movie "My Body, My Child".

In 1982 and 83 Sarah landed one of the two lead roles in the sitcom "Square Pegs". The show lasted just one year but it was critically acclaimed a success. In 1984 at the age of 19 Miss Parker landed a roll as Rusty in the hit movie "Footloose". It was later that year that she met Robert Downey Junior on the set of "First Born". They fell in love and when both of them were 20 they moved in together. This was a time when Robert Downey was battling cocaine and alcohol addiction. The relationship would last for seven years. In 1985 she landed a leading role in the movie "GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN".

Her first major role that would lead to others was starring beside Steve Martin in the 1991 comedy "L.A. Story". Sarah would play his wife and as she explained in the Chicago Tribune, " I had never played that [type] before, and it changed [producers'] perceptions about me". After that she began to land some better roles in movies.

After having short affairs with Nicolas Cage and John F. Kenndy Jr. Sarah met and fell in love with her current husband Matthew Broderick. Through the 1990s she landed some very good movie roles, but in 1996 she began and HBO series "SEX IN THE CITY" that would make her a household name in both acting and fashion. In 1997 Parker and Broderick were married.

"Sex in the City" did not end until 2004. Since that time one motion picture starring Sarah Jessica Parker has premiered and a sequel with the same name is due this year (2010). From her association with the show Sarah has won numerous Golden Globe Awards, Emmys and Screen Actors Guild Awards. She has her hand in fashion design and in the perfume industry. She is known throughout the world as a solid actress but her crowning achievement is her family.

Sarah and Matthew Broderick continue to be happily married and they have three children. Life continues to be busy for both of them and the future looks bright. Both Sarah and Matthew will be appearing on the show "Who Do You Think You Are" in separate shows and their family roots will be uncovered.
