Correct surname is Douglas. This is Laura Viriginia O'Hanlon Douglas (20 July 1889-13 May 1971), who as an 8 year old little girl in 1897 wrote the letter to the editor of The Sun newspaer in New York which elicited the iconic editorial, "Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus." She signed the letter "Virginia O'Hanlon, 115 West 95th Street" which where the family lived for many years. She was briefly married ro a man named Douglas. She was a public school teacher in New York City.
