Richard Mitchell, born 5 Mar 1802 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Married Rachel White in Trenton, New Jersey on 24 Apr 1827. They arrived in Miami County, Ohio betwee 1832 and 1833. His mother-in-law Hannah Yardley White took title on land in Lostcreek Township in December 1832 and transferred the title to him in 1835.
