Swisher SWISHER - Frederick L., 90, Patton, passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at Golden Living Center-HAIDA. Born July 17, 1919, in Patton, son of the late Norman and Alice (Cochran) Swisher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife of 63 years, Isabel (Lenglet) Swisher; an infant daughter; brothers, Eugene, Norman "Leo" and Curtis; and sisters, Iva "Betty" Davis, Nora "JoAnn" Bosar, Louise and Gretchen Gers. Survived by children, Bonnie (frank) Burskey, Carrolltown; Robert (Cheryl) Swisher, Austin, Texas; and Trudy (Dan) Thomas, Patton; grandchildren, Barb (Brian) Keith, Pam (Tracey) Neff, Cindy (Doug) Farabaugh, Kenya (Eric) Fisher, Shelly Swisher, Amy (Glen) Stanley, Shauna (Lee) Duman and Danny (Gayle) Thomas; 11 great- grandchildren; sister, Kathryn Lallemand, Patton; and brothers, George and Ken Swisher, both Montana, and John Earl Swisher, Utah; also neices and nephews. Frederick graduated from Patton High School in 1937 and then served in the U.S. Army-Air Force with the Army Corps of Engineers for eight years, having been discharged with the rank of Captain. Retired as Patton postmaster in 1979, 28 years service. Lifelong member of Patton Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed tinkering around, making blankets, gardening, and most of all, spending time with his children, grandchildren, and grea t-grandchildren. Stevens Funeral Home, Patton. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Patton Presbyterian Church, Pastor Nadine Kinkead, officiating. Interment, Fairview Cemetery, Patton. Full military rites will be accorded by John White VFW Post 779 and Walter McCoy American Legion Post 614.
