Jessie was born in 1803 in Kentucky. He married Rutha "Ruthy" Pride on October 15, 1824 in Morgan Co., Alabama. In 1842 Jessie was the executor of the estate of his mother, Elizabeth's, nephew Felix Blount Earnest, the son of Felix her brother. Jessie died in Jackson Co Texas in 1862. Ruthy died there about 1881 and is buried in the Rogers Family Cemetery in Ganado, Jackson Co. Texas. They had ten children. Examination of the early records of Madison and Morgan Co. AL indicates that there was a very close relationship, between JESSE EVANS, HENRY and NATHANIEL Evans. Letters of Mrs. Nolen, a resurcher that was alive in about 1960 prove that JESSE and JOSEPH JR. of Texas were brothers. While a extensive search has been made in Madison and Monroe and adjoining Co. of AL for records pertaining to Joseph Evans Sr., We have found his family in both Simms Settlement in Linestone Co. AL and Elk Rivers, Giles Co., TN in about 1809 which were in the Mississippi Territory at that time. Then we have found many land warents in the arcives of the Indian' records. However, the census return of 1840 and 1850 of the family of NATHANIEL, the only one of the four brothers still living in Morgan Co. at that time We have no records of Henry or Elizabeth's deaths.
